Jazz on the Green

Event Program

Our brief program will begin at 5:45pm and will feature opening remarks by Prince William County Executive Chris Shorter; shared stories from our leadership, residents, and staff; and recognition of select businesses and individuals who enable us to provide industry-leading, affordable senior care services to our residents.

The evening will feature live jazz from musician Tony Craddock, Jr., known for his smooth, uplifting sound and weather-inspired compositions that bring a fresh, hope-filled energy to the stage. Recognized across major platforms including Sirius XM Watercolors and The Weather Channel, he has worked and collaborated with recognized jazz performers such as Kirk Whalum, Ken Navarro, and Adam Hawley.

Award Honorees

Large Business Partner: Micron

Micron’s support helps create meaningful moments of connection, brightens our shared spaces, and gives residents meaningful opportunities to engage with the broader community. They help maintain and beautify our community by tending the gardens, replenishing plants in our courtyards, and painting the fence at the front of the property. The company’s employees also dedicate their time to our residents: from hosting Bingo to provide an outlet for socialization to thoughtful gestures like holiday cards; their commitment shows how our corporate partners make a human difference in the lives of our residents.

Mission Impact Partner: First Mt. Zion Baptist Church – Dumfries

First Mt. Zion Baptist Church is a true mission impact partner for Birmingham Green, sharing our commitment to providing warm, compassionate care to those we serve. Their members regularly volunteer at resident events and visit Birmingham Green to support activities that bring connection, joy, and meaningful engagement to our residents. Their generosity extends to our employees and their families through donations of backpacks for our annual Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway. And during this year’s back-to-school event, their Men’s Fellowship choir performed a special concert. Through their time, talents, and generosity, First Mt. Zion Baptist Church continues to make a meaningful difference in the Birmingham Green community. 

Volunteer Legacy: Nancy Hamorick

Since November 2014, Nancy Hamorick has been a dedicated and beloved volunteer at Birmingham Green, leaving a lasting mark on the residents, staff, and fellow volunteers she has touched along the way. From leading the resident choir, to sharing piano performances, to assisting in the campus store, Nancy has always found ways to give her time and talents to our community. She delivers popcorn to residents, participates in countless activities, and, most importantly, consistently brings joy, comfort, and connection to those we serve. Her resilience, selflessness, reliability, and positive spirit make her an extraordinary volunteer and a valued member of the Birmingham Green family–and exceptionally deserving of the Volunteer Legacy Award.

Community Partner: The Haymarket Quilters Club

The Haymarket Quilters Club has been a cherished community partner of Birmingham Green, bringing creativity, friendship, and generosity to our residents for the past two years. Each week, residents look forward to their sewing group, gathering with volunteers Joan Girardi, Pat Moore, Sandy Burgess, Kimiko Richardson, Anne Madison, Martha Scott, and Ann Walters. Their generosity extends throughout our community, with the club donating 60 to 70 beautiful handmade quilts to our community each year. Through their time, talent, and heartfelt generosity, the Haymarket Quilters Club continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.
